Summary. Finally. Done. Too tired to even cheer.

Both boys have been sick - Daniel most of last night, and Justin tonight. Yucky. Chris was up with Daniel for a looong time last night while he (Daniel) puked and had horrible stomach pains. Tried gravol, tummy rubs, everything, and eventually put on Attack of the Clones. Daniel settled right down :)

Justin was tired at the end of the day at Laine's, seemed OK on the way home, then started feeling sad. Just wanted cuddles. Eventually started crying, only able to tell us that he felt bad. I ended up just quietly cuddling him while Chris cooked and Daniel played Jumpstart Spanish upstairs and the Pet Shop Boys sang... and he fell asleep. And there I was. I've got two degrees and I'm working on my third, I have a brain and talents and yadda yadda yadda... but the most important function I had at that point in time was as a pillow for a sick little guy. Worth far more to me than all my degrees and other assets :)

All boys are now in bed. I'm done my summary. Now I'm going to bed too.

Oh, and, Recs Judicata is updated! Go see!

pillowhood is a noble calling

Sending my love and good thoughts to the boys - and their parents who need it too.

Pillowhood is essential. Pillowhood can turn a person's emotional barometer to mush. Who needs degrees and external validation when we are so infintely more powerful than down and fluff?

It's so very humbling, isn't it? The fact that we have such a huge place in our children's emotional worlds. Chris said yesterday, "It's amazing - Justin's so sick, and yet there he is, blissed out and asleep because he's getting to cuddle with Mama."

aw. Again, I have to say that despite all the challenges he presents, Justin just sounds like the sweetest kid.

I have all those brains and degrees and talents that you do, too, and it's reading stuff like this that reminds me why, despite all the challenges, I really want kids someday.

Yeah. He is :)

And I wouldn't trade my guys in for any number of degrees. Infuriating as they are, they're worth all the aggravation. I just need to remind myself of that when they're about to drive me insane.
