Reading over the Mary Sue fics for thursday100, it struck me that... you know, I actually have 'aburn' hair and a delicate spray of pale gilt freckles dancing like impish birds over the bridge of my nose. I have curves too. Lots of curves. Yet somehow I am unable to strike anybody into speechless adoration of my godlike beauty. Why is that? I'm baffled.

I think maybe I need a cool Mary Sue name. With lots of h's and l's, and probably a few apostrophes.

Oh, and a black belt and the ability to speak Aramaic.

Ho-hum day. Counseling in the morning, lunch with Justin, letter writing with Daniel. I've decided that once Chris is done reading Danny, The Champion of the World, I will see if the kids want to read the Prydain chronicles (Black Cauldron, etc). There's no pictures in any of the books, though, so I went through and found pix on the internet. Unfortunately, most of them are from the Disney version, which... feh. Didn't much like it, compared to the original. And many of the details are very, very wrong. Oh well.

Dude, Jimena *is* a Mary Sue name. It's at least very uncommon. You just need a middle name like...Elishabetha.

Oooh... L'hannah Elishabetha. What self-respecting Mary Sue author wouldn't like that name?

Detective L'hannah Elishabetha Montmorency. Youngest person to ever get their Detective's shield in the NYPD. 99% clearance rate, black belt, supple as a young willow, aburn hair flowing down past her tiny waist, duck-freckles doing their thing, heartbreakingly pure singing voice and the ability to speak Aramaic without an accent.

Isn't Susan uncommon here? I've only ever met two or three others. Always been the only Susan in any school I've attended--well no, that's not quite true. My grade one teacher and my grades 8-9 gym teacher were both Sues.

Heh. Must be a generational thing. When I was in school, there were always about 2-3 Susans, 3-4 Karens, 15 "other" and the rest were named Jennifer.

Yeah, I was going to mention Jennifers. They're everywhere. And the girls who aren't Jennifers have names ending in a. Katrina, Brianna, Alaina, Karissa, Etcetera.
