Christmas Eve is not always all it's cracked up to be.

I shouldn't complain, because my own particular troubles today are rather minor in the grand scheme of things. I'm not ill; I'm not away from my loved ones; I'm not stuck in a war-torn land where bombs go off at random.

However, I do have a hell of a headache and a toothache that won't go away, and Chris is on call.

I've been getting headaches quite frequently since I started the Megace, and my family doc gave me a prescription for Tylenol 2s. I also got a swollen gum that kept me up all night because every time I swallowed I felt sharp stabbing pains in my jaw. So yesterday my dentist took a look, said I've got to get my wisdom teeth out, and prescribed antibiotics for the infection I've got in my gums.

Filled both scrips today while grocery shopping, and promptly lost them. So now I'll have to go back as soon as Justin wakes up from his nap, and get them re-filled. ::grumble::

And, of course, Chris is on call, as he is almost every holiday.

The good thing is, Justin is much more manageable today than he was yesterday, and Daniel is his usual sweet self. And we made chocolate-caramel chip cookies for Santa, so even though they cause me a hellacious pain when I chew them, I've got food comfort at least :)

Heh. Wisdom teeth extraction. Happy drugs.

My mom drove me home from the surgery -- I was waaay, waaay out of it -- and led me up to bed, where I collapsed into blissful darkness. Some time later she came in to take the cotton gauze out of the back of my mouth, and I tried to pull my tongue out for her to take, as well. Couldn't understand why it seemed to be attached.

And the little squirty thing they give you to clean out the holes is fun.

Boy, I'm really looking forward to this now...

My Dad drove me to the doctor's office when I had my wisdom teeth removed. He was very helpful. After the procedure, the nurse helped me get into the car while he laughed and pointed at where I had drooled on my shirt...

LOL!

Sounds like the soul of compassion ;) Why do I get the feeling Chris will do the same for me?
