Catching up on social duties. Fun fun fun. Went to visit my mom for a while this morning, Chris is now calling his mother, and then we have to call our friends Todd and Susan.

It's been such a hellish winter. Knowing that we're not being as supportive to people who are going through worse stuff than us, and that they probably don't understand why we haven't called or been there for them as much as we should, has not been terribly nice either. We've done all we could, but I still feel guilty that we haven't done more.

Oh well.

I would like to send somebody over at ff.n some happy pills - my stats count said somebody just read through all of Purgatory in one sitting. It's the grimmest thing I've ever written - I wouldn't want to read through it in one sitting, and I wrote it. Somebody wanted a whack with the downer stick today.

Made tea biscuits with the kibbles this morning. I'm finally getting into the groove of cooking with them, making them take turns, and making sure Justin doesn't destroy our kitchen in the process. It's been a bloody exhausting road though, and it's still somewhat stressful. But at least I no longer finish a cooking session feeling like I need to take a valium and lie down for the rest of the day.

And in other news, SARS continues its virulent spread. I was thinking of re-reading the Doomsday Book by Connie Willis, but now I think I'll just put that off for a little while, thanks ;)

Hey! Another Connie Willis fan! I haven't read The Doomsday Book yet, but I mean to this summer. Right now I've got Fire Watch out from the library.

Hm. That response was perhaps too enthusiastic, considering that you're actually talking about SARS.
