Homeschoolers have one idea absolutely dead-on: when children are truly motivated, they can learn with ferocious tenacity.
To wit: Daniel, who has just discovered D&D, has been happily struggling to read, all by himself, the Player's Handbook, for about forty minutes. We're not talking "Franklin saw the dog" here - we're talking Quarterstaff of True Striking: This sturdy quarterstaff of polished oak with three grooves at each end functions as a +1 quarterstaff. Additionally a charge can be expended per strike to invoke a true strike spell, as per the spell description.
Caster Level: 5th; Prerequisites: Craft Staff, Craft Magic Arms and Armour, true strike.
He's so cute :)

I have the mp3 of the whole thing on my compy, which is also rather amusing to listen to as well.
