It's 11:49pm and the Ottawa Senators have won. How do I know this? [livejournal.com profile] heathers posted the following comment on her lj: "fucking Ottawa."

Sorry, sweetie. For what it's worth, I kinda wish the Leafs had won too. I'm not a big fan of the traffic jams, incessant hooting, and random appearances of bizarre flags featuring Roman centurions or something, who presumably represent Senators. Screw historical accuracy, because a plumed helmet-head is a little more manly than a head with laurels on it.

Later Edit: Actually, having done a little experimental combining of two of my great passions in life - history and computers - I gotta say, the helmet head is better.

Why am I doing this? I'm probably going to be up all night on this damn paper, which is only worth 30% anyway. Why?

Well, because I can be a perfectionist and frankly, this paper is kind of interesting.

Or rather, the topic is interesting. The paper itself is about as gripping as the phone book. But hey, I've sure learned a lot with this. I've learned how to navigate around the govcanada website, how to look up minutes of parliamentary sessions... actually, here:

Yeah. If I hear Fogarty's Cove one more time I may have to crush our speakers with a mallet. Or I could use our cheese grater, that should be fun.

I gained a pound from last week. Guess I'm gonna have to remember that whole "you're on a diet, so don't eat a whole box of Girl Guide Cookies" motto.

I've pretty much got my intro, brief history of corporate liability, "Westray Explosion", Parliamentary debates, passing the bill, description of the act, and a slightly more sophisticated conclusion than "corporations suck" all done. Now I just have to wrestle down "the road to drafting the Bill", then my footnotes and bibliography, and then I'm done, baby. I may watch the sun rise as a little break. It'll probably be more calming than doodling with the Senators logo.

Aaaall done. Nothing left but the printing and nitpicking. So glad to be done. And I'm pretty sure it's a good paper, though my prof may be looking for something completely different.

OK, prepare to be impressed, because I worked all night on this.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea At the Time )

Later Edit: LOL No, I didn't actually hand this in! Geez!! Some people are so darned literal!

CBC Canada says:

Temp: 16.2°C (61.2°F)
Light Rainshower
Wind: SW at 30 km/h (18.64mph)
Wind Gusts: 41 km/h (25.47mph) <=== LIARS!! Daniel and I nearly got picked up by the wind like little kites on the way back home from the bus stop. That weren't no 41kph.
