Buggre Alle This For A Larke
Aug. 3rd, 2004 09:53 pmSeason ended, god damn them all.
Obviously, not in a good way, though we went down fighting. This is the first year that our team has only made it to the first playoff game - both last summers, we made it to the finals. This time, not so good. It didn't help that we were one player short, so obviously no subs. The other team had a full 11 players, no subs. One player less? Makes a difference.
We still managed to hold our own, ended with a score of 0-0, and went into sudden death (sudden death = 5 best kickers from each side get one kick each against the goalie, whichever team scores best wins). 2-2 until the very last kick. It ended with the goalies against each other, and ours let the final kick in. God damn.
At least it beat the alternative. If our goalie had blocked that last kick, the game would've been decided on a coin toss. Which would have been just too heartbreaking, considering the game and the season we played.
Oh well. There's always next year.
Next year, hopefully, I'll have more control of the ball and be more useful to the team. Although I've discovered I do have some use: apparently, I'm very, very fast, and when I rush at a player with the ball, they freak out and get rid of it fast. It's a neat talent to have ;)
Now must go wake up Chris so he can comfort me :)
