Dude! Where's My Summer?
Aug. 31st, 2004 04:12 pmRunning errands all morning, including buying my first textbook of the year (ugh). We'd stopped to get a snack for the boys and were walking to our next stop of the morning when I said, "Wow, it's a beautiful day, isn't it?"
"MMMmhmm!" said Justin. "The air is nice and fresh, and we have these great cheesy sticks!"
He's a little man of simple needs :)

Speaking of my first textbook, I'm trying to get into the mindset of a new school year, but it's a little tough. I'm looking forward to my classes, but not looking forward to not being around the boys. It feels like the summer's flown by, and I'm not ready to say goodbye for the next eight months.

And now, I'm going back to the kids. It's been a productive day so far: we ran errands, finished building the second big bionicle, and played Kids of Catan. Now I hope to interest them in making the figures for our Four Alls medieval diorama again, and this time, when they're done, I will take the figures away so that they don't squish them into plasticine barbells like they did last time. ::sigh:: All the figures we'd worked so hard to make - the priest, the peasants, the knights, the lord & lady... all squished. Bits of aluminum foil that had been armour still sticking out of the big globby barbells.
Children are just Chaos with feet.
