ET phone home
Oct. 25th, 2004 02:32 pmJustin made his very first phone call last night. He'd seen Daniel call us many times, letting us know what friend's house they were at, but he'd never done it himself. So he carefully looked at the number on their friend Ricardo's house, so that he could call Ricardo. Finding out that house numbers had nothing to do with phone numbers was very discouraging for him, but then he asked if we knew any phone numbers - like, for example, Auntie
ninja_kat's. Sure, we said. So he placed his very first call and had absolutely no idea what to talk about when he reached her, but he sure was proud of himself. And of course, being part of our family, he was not at a loss for words for long.
::sigh:: They grow so fast.
In other news, the boys discovered a book I bought a long, long time ago,"How to Draw Monsters." It's basically tracing paper and pages of monster body options, so that the kid chooses a head shape, traces it, chooses eyes, traces them, chooses arms, etc. And whoever designed the book sure knew little boys. Because there were my two, normally utterly allergic to anything fine-motor-skills related, squabbling over who gets to use the book. And carefully tracing out the shapes. And even colouring them, (mostly) inside the lines.
