Veggie night
May. 29th, 2008 09:22 pmWe are very concerned about the environment. We are very concerned about our health. We feel that part of how we can help both the planet and our bodies is to go as veggie as we can, as often as we can. It's difficult, but we try whenever possible to minimize meat, and find tasty, healthy meat-free alternatives. It's even better if we can use vegetables and fruits that are locally grown.
Tonight we ate vegetarian for dinner. We had broccoli, corn on the cob, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and blueberry pie.
We feel very virtuous now.
ETA: Oh for the love of...
::deep breath:: OK, just in case anybody was in doubt as to the tone of the above, that was a joke. Yes, we understand that a meal that consists of three kinds of pie is not actually virtuous. We don't eat like this all the time. We just hadn't had pie in a very long time, and wanted to celebrate me not studying for the Bar all the time any more. We started joking with the kids that it was health food, and thought we'd share the joke on lj as well. Sorry for the confusion.
