Quel surprise
Sep. 29th, 2010 11:03 amTook the Pew Forum's How Much Do You Know About Religion mini-quiz. Got 15/15, though I guessed on the last question. So, pretty much as expected, as their survey report says, as the people who scored highest in their phone poll were atheists and agnostics, followed by Jews and Mormons.
Anyway. Interesting.
ETA: Tracked down the whole thing and got all the religious knowledge answers right, though I'm embarrassed as heck to admit that I would've answered that Maimonides was Muslim if asked. Yes, all of my Jewish/medieval history buff friends can now mock me with impunity. And I would've said Averroes was Jewish, though he wasn't on the quiz at all. ::sigh::

Pickup lines
Sep. 29th, 2010 11:03 pm"Hey baby! Wanna ride?"
"Hi there big boy! Want some company?"
The first was shouted at me a few weeks ago as I waited for the bus home. I was charmed, as it was Chris shouting it at me. He had a doctor's appointment downtown, realized that I was probably going to be waiting for the bus at the same time as he was going to drive home, took a chance and found me before the bus did.
The next was said by me to him, the next week, when I found him waiting in the car near my bus stop.
It's become a new tradition. He's always downtown Wednesday afternoons, so he picks me up. I was unexpectedly upset at missing it last week when I had to take Justin to the doctor.
Wednesday is quite the challenge - in a good, but rather exhausting way.
Observations:

- 7:00 => wake up, get kids & self ready for school
- 7:35 => hurry off to bus
- 8:35-approx 1PM => Musical Courts
- afternoon => clients, research, occasional afternoon court appearances
- 5:10 => car date
- 5:40 => get home, whirlwind of getting kids ready to go
- 6:15 => biggest weekly grocery shopping trip
- 7:00 => taekwon-do
- 8:30 => home, make dinner
- 8:45-whenever => dinner, put kids to bed
Observations:
- I like riding the bus, I really do, but it's nice to get a drive one night of the week.
- TKD only once a week is brutal. Despite walking to and from the bus stop every day, I can feel my previous fitness leaving me :(
- After Wednesday, the rest of the week is like falling off a log
- 11:00PM sleep time sounds pretty good right now.
