Livejournal Meme
May. 17th, 2003 09:18 amPromises is puttering away. Kids are watching Saturday Morning Cartoons and Chris is sleeping in. We hope to bike to Experimental Farm today to see some sheep-shearing, but I have to find out what time that's on.
Ah, Victoria Day Weekend. And for once, it's a long weekend and Chris is not on call!
Can't seem to stay away from these surveys. This one was gakked from
senza.
1.Your Live Journal "user name" and what it means: A Cirocco is a desert wind, and a sports car. Cirocco Jones is also the name of the heroine in John Varley's Titan novels. I've used this as a net pseudonym for about... 13 years or so. The funny thing is I first used it on a whim at Queen's, and just never bothered to change it.
My lj name is "ciroccoj", which I now wish I'd put in as "ciroccojones" because there's another Cirocco on lj.
2. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your Live Journal represent who you actually are? Hm... 8?
3. How much about your life do you post to LJ? Random moments and summaries of days.
4. Is there anything you refuse to post about? Probably my sex life. Details of marital problems. And if I ever had something negative to say/think about another person on lj, I doubt I'd post that either.
5. On a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others? Hee... dunno. Won't even hazard a guess.
6. From who/how did you find out about LJ? I think I followed somebody's link from their ff.n user page. Could've been
tobiascharity or
senza or
kalio_plaid or
bear.
7. Has anyone ever joined LJ because of you? If they have, they sure aren't telling.
8. What proportion of your posts are friends only? None so far.
9. What is your favourite interest on LJ? None so far.
10. How many missing questions have there been on this survey that you've had to make up yourself? Uh... what?
11. How often do you respond to/comment on other peoples' journals? About three times a day. When something tickles my funnybone, or it sounds like somebody's upset, or something else kind of grabs me.
12. Do you prefer to write in your journal, read other journals? Read others.
13. Have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on LJ (or did it to someone else)? Nope (knock on wood).
14. Have you ever banned someone from your journal? Nope (knock on wood).
15. Who are your favourite LJ friend(s) and why? Uh... I only have six, so I can't really answer that one.
16. How many of your LJ friends have you actually met? None.
17. Of all of the people on LJ you know of, who is the most like you? No idea how to answer that one. Some people write in a style that reminds me of my own, others seem to have similar interests or outlooks on life, others have similar lives. So I can't really say.
18. Why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list? Because they add me to theirs. Or, theoretically, because I've wandered across their entries on from a friend's "friends" listing and found them interesting. But I haven't done that yet - I'm still kind of a newbie here.
19. Do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first? Yup.
20. What is the most likely reason you wouldn't add someone to your friends list? If they seemed like some kind of loon, or their lj entries weren't interesting to me (ie somebody who posted nothing but recipes).
21. Is your "significant other" on LJ? Ha! No, but he may as well be - he reads all of my entries and often stars in them.
22. Have you ever wanted to meet someone on LJ? Yeah, that would be interesting. I have met people in RL after meeting them online before though, and it can be quite disconcerting. People can be very, very different from their online personas.
