I was reminded of this Irish blessing by [livejournal.com profile] a_dawn:

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Which reminds me of another blessing that my mother-in-law said on the day of what my mother called Justin's "Heathen Baptism":

My wish for Justin is an Irish blessing, and I found this and chose this because both from his mother and from his father he has a little dash of Irish. So:

May God be with you and bless you,
May you see your children's children,
May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings, and
May you know nothing but happiness from this day forward.

Happy St. Patrick's Day :)

Edit: No Irishness, but here is Daniel's "Heathen Baptism".

Aww, yay! Passing on/sharing culture with your children is SO important, which made it that much more "awwwwww" when my Mom immediately knew what I was getting at.

Awww, that was beautiful. It brings back such memories... :)

Wow - I can't believe that was almost 5 years ago...and I think they are lovely wishes all. Forgive me, but I can't remember - did you record Daniel's Wish-party also?
