[livejournal.com profile] linaelyn, I think you and I had agenda gods who indulged in the same cheap meth this week, because I can so relate to your post from today. This is what my agenda looked like for the week:

Monday: D at babysitter? Labour (finish p445-513) & OLR
Tuesday: plumber 8:30, dentist 1PM, Cosmic Adventures, solitications for OLR silent auction
Wednesday: OLR meeting at 11:30, French for D at 1PM, J at babysitter, D at doctor 3:45, choir 7PM
Thursday: J at babysitter, [livejournal.com profile] ninja_kat in the morning, D at ENT 11:30, pick up donation from Mud Oven, War Museum for Cubs & Beavers 6:45
Friday: C home, J home, Garry at our house, swimming 3PM, deliver donations, Remembrance concert 6:30

Not that everything got done according to the schedule. I didn't go to [livejournal.com profile] ninja_kat's, and we didn't get to the War Museum thing. Drove around Hull for about an hour trying to find it, but didn't actually get in. Hull baffles me. I think I will try very hard to never, ever go there unless it's to go to the Children's Museum. Or the Gatineaus. Because otherwise I end up wanting to cry.

On the plus side, our drive wasn't a complete waste of time for the boys, because I had the Multiplication Songs tape in, and we got to listen to the whole damn set. I must admit I'm growing rather fond of the 9 times table, and the 11 is pretty good too. Good beat, minor key, nice tension and resolution.

Dear GOD what am I saying?

Also on the plus side, I had to admit I was cheered by the thought that, as bad as my life was right then as I drove through pitch-black Hull in search of a museum that wasn't even there, it sure beat the lives of the poor sods who put together the times table tapes. I can't imagine showing up for work to sing, cheerily and with conviction, the following lyrics:

Five ten fifteen twenty,
Twenty-five thirty thirty-five,
Forty forty-five fifty
Multiplying is nifty!

Kinda puts it all into perspective.

And lo, there is blessed nothingness on the agenda for today. Except for ballet, washing 5 baskets of clothing, folding and putting away 3, finishing readings for Labour & OLR, general tidying and cleaning, washing every pot we own, D & D, drumming party at Anne's... gee, that doesn't sound quite so blessed any more, come to think of it.
