Chris: I checked your car, hon. It started just fine for me.

Civ Pro! That's a first year required course for us, but it's more jurisdiction and standing questions (at the risk of confusing you, do you have the state v. federal problems and in rem vs personal jurisdiction? That was the biggest piece of my civ pro). Looks like yours is way more in depth since it's upper level.

One of my favorite legal quotes was from my CivPro teacher: "You can't hide the wickedness of what you're doing by using Latin phrases."

[Ack, wrong account.]

That's a first year required course for us,
Yeah, it's supposedly 2d year required here, but you can take it in 3d year as well.

it's more jurisdiction and standing questions (at the risk of confusing you, do you have the state v. federal problems and in rem vs personal jurisdiction?
We have provincial/federal, and two whole courses that deal with that ad nauseum, but in rem v personal jurisdiction is a new one on me. That may be because I just haven't taken the right courses yet ;)

"You can't hide the wickedness of what you're doing by using Latin phrases."
(Quoting Narnia movie) No... but I bet they help ;)

I had to go look up the in rem v. personal--it's out of our due process clause and deals with hauling out of state defendants into court. Here's the most famous case....

Yep, 16 years later and I at least remembered the cases ;-)
