Friday is when Garry comes over. Anne asked if he could stay a little later than usual. Anne's having a really, really really bad time.

Said sure. Had been thinking of letting Garry stay a bit later anyway, as he and Justin now seem to get along better than before. Of course, I knew it was likely that that was due to the fact that they seldom see each other.

I was right.

Trouble began roughly 3 minutes after Justin got home from school. Lasted until roughly half an hour after Garry went home.

Sotired.

Not as tired as Anne. Any Canadians who've seen the stories about that family in Medicine Hat? Mom, dad & 10-yr old son murdered by the 12-yr old daughter and her 23-yr old boyfriend? They were friends of Anne's. And Anne's daughter Eva is 11. They've both been kind of knocked out by the whole thing.

Sleeping is good. Beds are good places.

Going there now.

Sometimes doing what you can for a friend in need, even to the point of staggering exhaustion and tears for one's kidlings, is the only thing that makes sense in the face of such wanton destruction of life.
