We've had the boys going through their toys and selecting which ones they want to keep/toss, and they've done... almost nothing. Chris and I helped for about three hours in all, and most of the toys that were properly sorted/put away were done by us. The rest lay there for nine hours, while the boys sort of puttered around and complained about how much work they had to do.

After various attempts to motivate, prod along, encourage, etc, they eventually got a huge Mrs. Weasley-worthy yelling from me, then were given until bedtime to finish up, or lose whatever toys remained on the floor.

Bedtime came, and their remaining toys went. Into the garbage.

I love my kids. Really I do. Except for those days when the dearest wish of my heart involves dropping them out the window.

In other news, there is no snow. None. It's 4C (39.2F) out, and it's been raining, on and off, for the last couple of days. In January. In Ottawa, where a normal winter day in winter is about -10C (14F), with no green on the ground until March at the very earliest. The Rideau Skateway is closed and doesn't look like it'll be frozen in time for Winterlude.

WTF?

I think this winter is really starting to convince some people who used to really not take global warming seriously.
Damn... I wish I had your optimism, and I hope you're right. Because personally, I don't see it. I don't think anything will convince certain people that there's something wrong. Or, more importantly, that there's something they can/should do about it. Case in point, a poll taken not long ago said that something like 71% of Americans believe that there is such a thing as global warming... but only 41% believe it has anything to do with humans.

::sigh::
