This? Is too bloody funny:
The Armageddon Flowchart

The Armageddon Flowchart
Sarah tagged me for the 7 Random Things About Me meme (heh - Mememe!), so here they are:
- I have never seen Forrest Gump or Titanic.
- Both of my children had the same due date (February 18). Apparently, May is a good time for me and Chris. This may be Too Much Information.
- I sang Second Soprano one year even though my vocal range is First, because I wanted to learn how to read music and Firsts hardly ever need to.
- In high school I did a computerized careers survey. Of the top ten careers the computer suggested, seven were in the military. I believe the top choice was Military Police. The one that amused my mother the most was Artillery Officer.
- I wore a small stud in the cartilege of my right ear for seven years. The piercing never really healed, and hurt a little tiny bit all the time.
- For about three years my diet during the school year was: Breakfast = oatmeal & tea, Lunch = Ban Righ Cafeteria all-you-can-eat lunch plan, Dinner = iced tea & spaghetti.
- I have tried to give blood three times. The Red Cross finally told me to please stop trying, because they were afraid I was going to go into convulsions and die on them.

The Red Cross doesn't want my blood, and all I have to say is
Thank goodness!!! I did it once before they banned me, and I hated the sensation. It wasn't the needle, but... other things. *shudder*

Date: 2007-05-26 03:26 am (UTC)An unholy combination of budgetary cleverness and culinary laziness. I got all the protiens, veggies, variety, etc from my lunch plan, which I paid for in one lump sum at the beginning of each term. Which meant I could stay relatively healthy and I didn't have to bother with shopping or cooking, two things I hate.

Yeah, I wasn't fond of it either. I went into (mild) shock twice. The third time, they didn't even let me roll up my sleeve. My body has a catastrophic reaction to blood loss, where, independently of my mind (which is quite willing to donate) it decides I'm on the verge of death and frantically tries to save my life by shutting down all unnecessary functions. I've even done it while getting blood samples taken. It's embarrassing.
It's actually also amusing, because I warn medical folks of what might happen, but they're still shocked when they see it. I end up reassuring them that no, I'm not about to die, my body's just a drama queen, I'll be OK in a few minutes, please don't make me lie down and put my feet up.

Date: 2007-05-31 11:39 am (UTC)Oatmeal and tea are what I have for breakfast every morning and have been for years. Heatwaves in summer are a real culinary crisis for me.
