Then: December 1999

1. Age: 28.

2. Romantic Status: Married.

3. Occupation: Newly out of prison & teaching. As in, I was no longer teaching in a prison. Not that I'd just been released and was teaching. Very different.

4. Fun night out: Seeing a movie with Chris.

5. My BFFs: Todd & Susan, Karen.

6. I spent way too much time: Hating Chris' insane schedule.

7. I spent not enough time: Feeling good about myself.

8. I wanted to be when I grew up: A teacher.

9. Biggest concern: Whether or not we could survive Chris' job.

10. What my biggest concern should have been: Same.

11. Where did I live: A lovely little house in the middle of an almost-slum.

12. Dumbest thing I did that year: I'm sure there were plenty of things. I was pregnant, working two jobs, and single-parenting Daniel while Chris did his final year of medical school. Lots of opportunities for dumbness.

13. If I could go back now and talk to myself I would say: You survived. It wasn't worth it, in that the scars are still there and if I could go back in time and talk Chris out of going to med school I would do it in a heartbeat, but life did get better eventually.

2. Romantic Status: Married.

3. Occupation: Stay-at-home mom.

4. Fun night out: Going out to dinner with Chris. Possibly movie too, with or without the kids.

5. My BFFs: Lots of fellow parents, plus a few people I've never even met :)

6. I spend way too much time: On the computer (though obviously, not enough to be embarrassed into not doing this meme).

7. I spend not enough time: Cleaning my house.

8. I want to be when I grow up: A lawyer.

9. Biggest concern: Getting an articling position.

10. What my biggest concern should be: Same.

11. Where do I live: Nice house in a fairly nice neighbourhood.

12. Dumbest thing I have done this year: Honestly can't think of anything. Nothing I'd admit to in public, anyway ;)

13. What I think I would say to myself in 10 years: Don't stress about getting an articling position.

1. What do I miss most from 1999: My mom, Todd & Susan, and having a job.

2. What do I miss least from 1999: Medical school.

3. What have I accomplished in 10 years that I am most proud of: My kids are healthy, mostly happy, and pretty cool people. Home schooling has been one of the best things we've ever done.

4. What have I NOT accomplished in 10 years that I wish I had: Being done with lawyer-training.
