So, apparently the happy couple is safely wed and the service was lovely and the dress was gorgeous and the bride wore her hair down which was apparently a "bold move" and there was much smiling and joy and children-dressed-in-their-best adorableness and I wish the happy couple - and all the dedicated souls who rose at 5AM to watch the event - all the best, as well as some caffeine :) :) :)
No, I didn't watch it. No, I didn't tape it. No, I don't think it's silly to have done both.
Well... no, that's not true. I do think it's silly. I also think it's silly to memorize the entire script of The Princess Bride, be able to rattle off the names of Captain, Second in Command, Doctor, and Chief Engineer of all five Star Trek series without needing to pause to think even for a moment, and know who destroyed each of Voldemort's Horcruxes with no pausing there either. And yet I'm guilty of all of the above ;)
Besides, my mom taped Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding way back when, and I'm sure she would've been up at 5Am today as well. She was so devastated when our house was broken in to a few years later and all our VCR tapes stolen. She always said that the thing that bugged her the most was imagining the thieves taping Hockey Night in Canada over Diana's shy slight bungling of Charles's name. Ah well. I suppose that's something few people need to worry about these days, what with VCRs going the way of rotary phones.
And with that, off to swimming. Let's hope the threatening downpour waits til at least 3PM, so we don't get soaked before we even get there. Not that Justin would mind, as he's hopping into the pool right away, but I'll be waiting around for an hour and I don't fancy doing that while sopping wet. Chris picked the wrong day to take his car to the shop and borrow mine :/
