So Chris has put the boys to bed and has asked me to come get him at 10. 9:55 rolls along, and he stumbles out of the boys' bedroom and into the study, and stares at me with horror.
"What are you DOING?" he asks.
"... I'm on the computer?"
"It's FOUR in the MORNING!" he says, quite scandalized.
"What?!"
He lurches towards me, looks at the screen where the time display says 9:55PM.
"Oh. I didn't have my glasses on when I looked at the clock," he says.

Let's all point and laugh, shall we?

Justin's first ballet class today. He's outgrown his last pair of slippers, so we go to get him new ones. I come home and Justin runs to show them to Chris, who hides his gut reaction from Justin but mouths at me "They're WHITE?!" (His old ones were black, and fairly boyish as ballet slippers go).
"He wanted pink," I murmur. Chris' eyebrows shoot up.
"Thank you!" he mouths back.

Eventful day. Managed to get in ballet, slipper shopping, cleaning, D&D, and dinner with Guy, and still got a bit more of my readings done. And my ADR assignment.

Going to a mini-high school reunion of sorts on Monday. Two people I haven't seen in about 15 years, one of them one of my best friends from high school. It's so strange how completely you can lose touch with the people who once shaped your life.

re: Chris. Heeeeeeeeeeee.

One time in high school I woke up, looked at the clock, decided it was morning and tromped downstairs to get clean clothes out of the dryer. I'm poking around in there when I hear my dad at the top of the stairs asking what in the world I'm doing.

"Getting ready for school," I say, in a very "duh" tone of voice.

"Can't it wait 'til morning?"

"... It *is* morning."

"It's 12:53. AM."

"Oh. ... Heeeee."

And I went back to bed. :)

Saw this, thought of Justin:

The Word of the Day for September 26 is:

terpsichorean \terp-sih-kuh-REE-un\ adjective
: of or relating to dancing

Example sentence:
"Moscow's Bolshoi Ballet headed south to Los Angeles Sunday
afternoon after infecting this town with six days of ...
terpsichorean frenzy...." (Allan Ulrich, _The San Francisco
Examiner_, August 10, 1987)

Did you know?
In Greek and Roman mythology, Terpsichore (\terp-SIH-kuh-
ree\) was one of the nine muses, those graceful sister-goddesses
who presided over learning and the arts. Terpsichore was the
patron of dance and choral song (and later lyric poetry), and in
artistic representations she is often shown dancing and holding
a lyre. Her name, which earned an enduring place in English
through the adjective "terpsichorean," literally means "dance-
enjoying," from "terpsis," meaning "enjoyment," and "choros,"
meaning "dance." "Choros" is also the source of "choreography"
and "chorus" (those "choruses" in Athenian drama consisted of
dancers as well as singers). The only other word we know that
incorporates "terpsis" is "terpodion," an obsolete term for a
piano-like musical instrument that was invented in 1816 but
never really caught on.

Don't ask me why, but upon reading this, my brain very helpfully supplied me with an image of Justin with laurels in his hair, leaping around and whacking a lyre against the walls, furniture, and other dancers, until it finally splintered and died with one hell of a twang.

::sigh:: Even in my daydreams, he's destructive.
